Overall this is a phenominal product. I gave it 4 stars not based on the product, or the products capabilities, but rather the idiot behind this message. I love listening to what going on in town or out and about while travelling, yet for the life of me I can’t figure out all the buttons. Shame on me! Don’t let that stop you if you’re an advid radio techie, this thing rocks!

1 Star Analog Scanner
While the Uniden Bearcat BCT8 Warning System may be a great scanner and received mostly great reviews, it was not made clear that this is an analog scanner and will not pick up transmissions made in digital mode.

Unfortunately, it was after my 30-day return period had passed that I learned the reason I was having trouble picking up local transmissions was that my local public service agencies broadcast digitally. So a word of caution to prospective buyers, make sure how your local agencies are broadcasting and choose your scanner appropriately.
