5 Stars Best Possible Case for NX Series PDA
I have been looking for a case for my NX80V for about a year that made it easy to use and to protect as much as possible if dropped. Finally, I found this case on Amazon. It is a very tight fit—which is good. It just takes being very careful as you insert the PDA into the case. Once on, the case permits easy use and easy placement on its stand as shown in the photo. Also, it is an easy fit into and out of most suit coat pockets. It is a great example of excellent design and excellent manufacture. Thank you Bellagio.
2 Stars Frustrating to use – not well designed for iPhone
From the 5-star review already posted here, I can only assume that this case was originally designed for another device, and was adapted for use with the iPhone. Note that the product photo only shows you one angle, from the front. The hole in the back for the camera does not line up, so you have to take the phone out to use the camera if you do not want the lens/picture occluded.
The earphone jack doesn’t line up, so I have to open the lid to use it – nullifying the reason for getting a case with a flap – to protect the breakable glass.
The side cut-out where the volume switch is – CONSTANTLY gets stuck on the switch, so that the leather is holding down the volume-up button. I have removed the phone and even used an Emery board on the inside of the case to wear it down a little to get the phone in there deeper, but it doesn’t help.
The top flap near the ear-hole where you can hold the phone to your ear covers the proximity sensor – so when I make a call, even though I’m using my bluetooth earpiece and not holding the phone to my ear, I have to pull the phone slightly out of the case so the screen doesn’t go black.
There are other cases out there with flaps, but they use magnets. I chose this case because it has a real snap in lieu of magnets – but the snap is magnetized! And, for no apparent reason. I do not want strong magnets near my electronics!
The case is beautiful and I get compliments on it all the time, but I tell everyone I know not to get one because of the frustrations I cited above. My favorite brand of cases is inCase, but they have not made a model w/ a flap to protect the glass from breaking, which is why I searched and searched to find a case like this one. The concept is great, but the delivery is poor. Despite the beautiful red leather, the dye-cut-outs simply were not executed well, so nothing fits right. I don’t dare cut bigger holes, because I don’t have the equipment or knowledge to stitch into leather this thick to reinforce those holes – nor should I have to be a tailor for a case billed as an iPhone case. It simply is only a close fit, but no cigar. I don’t hate the case, but as soon as I find a worthy replacement, I will never use it again. If I had had it as a perfect-fit case for another device and chose to use it for my iPhone, I’d have a different attitude about it – but since it was marketed (here, anyway) as an iPhone case, but clearly misses the mark BIG TIME on fitting the phone, I can only say – DO NOT BUY THIS CASE if you have an iPhone… it will only frustrate you. It frustrates me to no end, every time I use my phone. The point of the case is to keep it in the case – if I have to take it out of the case to use it, making it vulnerable to damage, it negates the need for the case in the first place.
5 Stars Great Protection for Iphone
I like this case ESPECIALLY because it isn’t upside down like other Iphone cases. What I mean is that the case cover flips up instead of down, which leaves the charging opening at the bottom of the case instead of in the middle. It seems more secure in this case and it is much easier to attach the charger with this design. Good looking case, too! The red is great for me because it’s easier to see in my purse.
