1 Star There is no headphone jack as stated in the discription.
The website is wrong under product description, “headphone jack,” which is vital to not wake up the husband/wife on a trip. There is a picture of a headphone set by the power plug, but Magellan says, “no jack.”

4 Stars Maestro 4250
I needed a portable GPS for my old second car. Having used a few GPS units including those from Garmin and Tom Tom…and the one built into my Acura I was looking for something w bluetooth and simple voice commands and a fairly large bright screen. I bought a refurbed unit at a pretty good price. My unit arrived and worked fine out of the box. However, for some reason it locked up while syncing to my Razor…..I couldn’t find anything on the web about that problem so concluded it was a unique glitch. In any event the problem disappeared when I installed the latest software upgrade. Pros…nice bright and fairly big screen. Works with traffic alert system. Cons… I think this uses the Windows CE operating system…need I say more about compromises? Sometimes the unit takes ages to find out where it is when switched on. For example if you switch off in one location (say at work)and turn on in another (say at home) it can be an agonizingly long time before it figures out you are in a different place from when the unit was last active. Also I found dragging the map on the screen can be frustrating – the touch sensitivity is awkward and takes some getting used to. Overall, the key with this unit is to sit down and spend time to understand its functions and foibles. Once you understand the thing you start to enjoy using it. Finally none of the portable units I have used outdo the installed unit in my car.

It’s one of the best GPS there is. I’ve researched all of the different GPS products that are out there and believe me this is the best! You won’t be disappointed!
