5 Stars Excellent GPS mount!
I own three car type GPS’s and the one I use the most is my Tom Tom. Well, as many of you know the Tom Tom does NOT come with a decent mount. The mount with the Tom Tom literally is a piece of junk that doesn’t stay “connected” to your dash or windshield. So, I searched for a replacement mount and thought I would try this one. It is perfect! It has a suction cup type base with a latch that literally locks it to the windshield or your dash mount. I have had mine mounted with GPS attached for weeks and it has not come off yet. It has two separate adjustments for positioning and it extends about 8 inches or so which puts the GPS closer to you for viewing. I cannot say enough about this GPS mount! You won’t be disappointed with your purchase.

5 Stars A must have!
Dear Tom-Tom Owners: You don’t have to use their terrible mount anymore. No more driving down the road and getting startled when the GPS falls off the windshield and almost causing an accident. This Mini Windshield Mount from Arkon does the job and does it well. For $10, it is a steal. Buy this and you’ll be happy you did.

5 Stars Swivel Mount
Pretty sure that TomTom should be packing this mount instead of the garbage one they manufacture. Stays on windshield beautifully and has excellent adjustments.

1 Star Don’t waste your money…
Same crap as the original mount. Works for about 2 weeks, the constantly falls off the windshield. It doesn’t seem like it should be that difficult to come up with a decent mount, and I was optimistic based on the other review but this one has the same problems.

Yuck.

4 Stars Good Little Case
Bought this with my Nuvi 500. It is made of hard synthetic material that smells like new shoes. The only reason it gets 4/5 is because they could’ve made one side toucher to protect the touchscreen. (or the whole case to protect from falling) The case material is fairly rigid and will protect against scratches and a few bumps but it is not going to save your Nuvi 500 from a fall onto a rock or what have you. However there is no better option on the market that i can see, so this case will keep your Nuvi 500 out of the elements and give it a nice sheltered home. The inside of the case has two elastic bands on the sides that only allow it to open half way before stretching, not sure if i like that or not. I am satisfied with my purchase, however.

5 Stars Best Case Ever!
This was perfectly created for our Nuvi 500. It’s a hard case with a soft feel and its great for protection when its in a bag or backpack. Makes traveling with our GPS even more comfortable!

4 Stars A nice case, but it could have been better.
I own and have owned quite a few GPS receivers including a recently purchased Garmin Colorado 400t. I bought my new Nuvi 500 (my 3rd Nuvi) as a cross-over GPS, one that I could walk around with, bike with, use to geocachache, as well as use it in a car. This is what the 500 and the 550 were designed for (according to Garmin’s website). I had hoped that Garmin might have designed a great case for it, as they did for the Colorado series. Alas, this was not the case (pun fully intended).

The GOOD:

* It’s lightweight

* It is very compact

* It seems to be good at keeping out the elements

* It’s priced right

The BAD

* For a GPS that is billed as being field-worthy this case has a zipper (making it harder to get into), not a latch as does the Colorado case

* It has no belt loop, mount or strap to allow one to easily carry it in the field. The Colorado case has several mounting options, this case has only as tiny string on the zipper

* It has no storage options, not even for an extra battery

I am very happy with the GPS unit itself but the case could have been designed to augment the function of the device, not just hold it. This may have been designed with all Nuvi’s in mind, which would explain it’s generic features. However, a waterproof, multifunctional GPS like the 500 (and it’s brother, the 550) deserve a case of their own.

DeLorme RAM In Vehicle Mount Mount your Earthmate PN Series handheld GPS in your vehicle

DeLorme RAM In Vehicle Mount Mount your Earthmate PN Series handheld GPS in your vehicle

RAM in-vehicle mount for Earthmate PN-20 and PN-40 handheld GPS * high-strength composite cradle * warranty: 1 year *

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Very well built
This holder is built very well. I only used it for a few hours because I returned the device that it holds. the only thing I noticed is that the holding latch for the PN-20 if quite hard to release. I am sure it would never fall out, but is much stronger than necessary.

5 Stars Bombproof.
I had heard the mount was strong, but this mount is almost overkill. I would expect I could roll my vehicle and it would stay in place. I’ve never seen a mount made this well. It’s very simple to attach, set in place and tighten down so that it doesn’t move.

I would highly recommend!

Navigon 4 3 Protective Hard Shell Case

Navigon 4 3 Protective Hard Shell Case

This stylish and durable case features a molded hard- shell exterior to keep your GPS device secure. Nylon interior lining provides additional protection; a zipper provides easy access.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars As expected, it’ll do the job.
This case does the job, but I agree with the other reviewers that it is not a true hard shell case, and is a little cheap for the price. I do like that it does not flip open all the way, so my Garmin Nuvi 750 has less of a chance of falling out. The case is slightly large for the Nuvi 750 if anyone is wondering, but it works fine and I don’t see it to be a problem. Fine little case, the best I could find for my needs after surfing the web for a few hours. It’ll do the job

5 Stars Case for Magellan 4250
I bought the Navigon 4.3 Protective hard case for my Magellan 4250, fits perfect, keeps it from being squashed, doesn’t take up much room in my purse which allows me to take my GPS with me everywhere. I love it! AND, it’s not obvious, thick like some other carriers and was reasonably priced.

4 Stars Wish it snapped shut
The zipper works fine but a snap latch would be better. However, the Navigon 7100 fits in it perfectly with no extra space, providing a great protection. Much better than the cloth bag that comes with the Navigon.

4 Stars Elegant Solution
This is a well-made item which protects the GPS unit very well…ideal for slipping into the briefcase for transport. My only wish is that it was slightly bigger so that it could accomodate charger and cables.

5 Stars Navigon case
It is working well.

When I received the product I thought it was not going to protect well. But when you place the GPS inside it works well protecting.

Would recommend.
