4 Stars Good but not great
Prima is a good company and this is a good case, though it’s not quite perfect. While the fit is quite exact, I find it’s not quite as snug as I would like, which makes it pretty easy for dust and debris to get into the case. For example, the edges can flip up as I’m stowing my touch in my pocket, letting crud get trapped between the case and the iPod, which can’t be good for the finish.

I also found that while the silicone texture provides excellent grip, that same grip creates a lot of friction when trying to slip my iPod into a pocket or tight space. So your precious iPod will be less likely to slip from your fingers, but it’s also harder to access, which I think is not a good trade-off because the iPod touch can’t really be operated without holding and seeing it (i.e., you can’t easily change the volume or skip a track while it’s in your pocket), so I’m always putting it away and retrieving it.

In the end I opted for a clear hard case from another maker.

5 Stars Great Little Mount. As Described
I have to say, I am pleasantly surprised by this little (and inexpensive) device. It does what it says it does! The magnet is plenty strong enough to hold my Blackberry Curve 8330 without any slippage or concern even under hard acceleration and braking. If you have a large battery in your device, or a magnetic casing, it may stick directly to the mount without the aid of the included metal plate, of which the kit contains two. One large, flexible rectangle, and one small circle. Both of which attract a surprising amount of magnetic force. The circle is all I needed to affix my blackberry curve to the mount, and I placed the circle on the back of my blackberry UNDERNEATH my plastic Seidio Super Slim Hard Case for BlackBerry 8300/8310/8320 Curve (Rubberized) case and it still held fast. As far as affixing the actual mount to the dashboard, again, I found the included double sided adhesive to do the trick. The ball joint provides a nice amount of articulation as well. One more thing to note. It is hard to tell in the picture, but the surface that you actually place your device on (the magnetic area) is actually a HARD RUBBER, NOT PLASTIC, which I found to be very nice, because you do not have to worry about scratching your device. Similarly, as the title of the mount suggests, the base (which you will stick to your dash, etc) is FLEXIBLE, so it is not a problem to stick it to a rounded surface. For the price amazon has it on, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this up again… One in every vehicle, one for every device.

3 Stars Unfortunately, not the Best Solution for Me
I decided to try out this mount after reading a few good reviews, and I had very high hopes. My Honda Element makes it a little tricky for me to mount my phone; given that previous reviewers noted that the adhesive on this mount worked well, I thought I’d give it a shot.

The construction is solid, although it’s a bit difficult to put together. Make sure you have a set of needle-nose pliers and a solid screwdriver before ordering. Once put together, however, the mount is quite sturdy. Furthermore, the magnets are, indeed, incredibly powerful, so you probably should not worry about your phone slipping its moorings.

The downside for me was attempting to install it in my Element. For those unaware, this car doesn’t really have many “smooth” surfaces. Everything is textured in one way or another, which makes car adhesives go apoplectic. Thus, I didn’t think it unusual that the adhesive on this mount didn’t stick. What surprised me is that the super-tacky double-sided tape I have didn’t work any better. Granted, the 1,000 degree August heat in Texas was likely a factor, but it’s held in other applications.

Ultimately, I just couldn’t use the mount. However, I decided to give it three stars because of its construction — and because other users may find this the perfect addition to their cars. If you have a smooth, flat surface, you may just love it.

4 Stars Great idea!!!!
I’m giving it a 4 because for the price RAM should include more metal plates of different sizes/thickness.

I needed a thinner one than the actual shipped with this product. But after I reduced it’s size this baby works fine with my HTC Touch Pro.

I’ll find a thinner plate anyway because the battery cover fits too tight.

The magnet is really strong, so it holds the cellphone very well once attached.

Only a movement extremely strong will take the device out of position and maybe let it fall down. This holder isn’t meant for off-road use. That’s for sure.

Other than that, this is a great idea to place your phone in the dashboard.

Actually the main holder is compatible with most RAM frames, so it also works with the “twist lock” suction cup holder I use for my Garmin 276c GPS (I have this RAP-B-104-224U but this other also works RAM-B-166U). I prefer that way because don’t like the idea of sticking something permanently on the dashboard.

The cellphone looks handy in the windshield with the suction cup, and i can remove the holder at any time

4 Stars Good Little Case
Bought this with my Nuvi 500. It is made of hard synthetic material that smells like new shoes. The only reason it gets 4/5 is because they could’ve made one side toucher to protect the touchscreen. (or the whole case to protect from falling) The case material is fairly rigid and will protect against scratches and a few bumps but it is not going to save your Nuvi 500 from a fall onto a rock or what have you. However there is no better option on the market that i can see, so this case will keep your Nuvi 500 out of the elements and give it a nice sheltered home. The inside of the case has two elastic bands on the sides that only allow it to open half way before stretching, not sure if i like that or not. I am satisfied with my purchase, however.

4 Stars A nice case, but it could have been better.
I own and have owned quite a few GPS receivers including a recently purchased Garmin Colorado 400t. I bought my new Nuvi 500 (my 3rd Nuvi) as a cross-over GPS, one that I could walk around with, bike with, use to geocachache, as well as use it in a car. This is what the 500 and the 550 were designed for (according to Garmin’s website). I had hoped that Garmin might have designed a great case for it, as they did for the Colorado series. Alas, this was not the case (pun fully intended).

The GOOD:

* It’s lightweight

* It is very compact

* It seems to be good at keeping out the elements

* It’s priced right

The BAD

* For a GPS that is billed as being field-worthy this case has a zipper (making it harder to get into), not a latch as does the Colorado case

* It has no belt loop, mount or strap to allow one to easily carry it in the field. The Colorado case has several mounting options, this case has only as tiny string on the zipper

* It has no storage options, not even for an extra battery

I am very happy with the GPS unit itself but the case could have been designed to augment the function of the device, not just hold it. This may have been designed with all Nuvi’s in mind, which would explain it’s generic features. However, a waterproof, multifunctional GPS like the 500 (and it’s brother, the 550) deserve a case of their own.

This holds all my TomTom extras in one easy case. I even bought a extra mount for it and that also fits in this case easily.

5 Stars I find this case to be very versatile
I bought this case as part of my Christmas present to my fiancee. I got this case to go along with a Tomtom go 720 GPS that I bought him. He has it arranged so that the gps sits face down against the soft inner lining of the case with velcro divider overtop of it. Then he places his car adapter, computer adapter and mount above the gps. The long strap makes it very easy to sling everything over your shoulder as you are hauling things to and from your car. So far his gps has been very safe inside this case (no dents or scratches). There is some movement of the items while in the case, so if you want a snug fit then this isn’t for you. The neoprene is very squishy and is not a hard case, but that was what we were looking for and so far we have no complaints. I am buying a go 730 for my best friend’s birthday and I will buy this case again for her. I also plan to buy myself this case when I buy my own gps.

Another nice thing about this case is that you can stuff anything inside it. If you are traveling then you can put your cell phone charger, ipod charger, cell phone, camera, etc. all inside it because it is pretty roomy even with the tomtom accessories already inside.

5 Stars great little case for the buck
I recieved the case for my Tom-TomXL 330S, it fits perfectly and secure. the shell is durable and semi hard that zips securely and has a handle , inside you have 2 pouches one for 4.5 and one for 3.5 GPS, the car charge fits nicey in the zippered compartment and the little strap is good for the USB, the open pouch fits the instructions good, and the disk for tom tom ok.

i would highly recommend this travel case.

4 Stars Tomtom Travel Hard Case
After a few hours of research on the internet on which hard case to buy for my new Tomtom Go 920, the Tomtom Travel Case was the perfect choice. The case is very durable, the craftsman ship excellent, and the price is second to none. The pros for this product, it holds all the accessories for the Tomtom Go 920 to include the docking station. Excellent for keeping everything together when traveling long distances and wanting to update your Tomtom while on the go when you have internet access. The cons, I found out that the 4.3-inch screen does not actually fit in the internal soft case. After a few minutes in re-sowing the hook tape to accommodate the 4.3-inch screen, the soft case flap now secures the Tomtom perfectly. I foresee this Tomtom Travel Case will help me keep my Go 920 safe for many years to come.

3 Stars meh… save your money
My girlfriend and I just purchased a new PND, and thought it would be a good idea to get some kinda of case for it. We considered a few options: (1) use one of the existing cases/pouches we already have, (2) get a small/non-bulky case so we could toss it in a purse/backpack, (3) get a larger case to stuff all the related accessories into a single container.

Since we already have a variety of small cases/pouches, we opted for #3: the larger case. We ordered the TT Travel Case thinking that all the parts and pieces would fit nicely in the case.

Being the gadget geek that I am, I patiently waited the 9 days it took to get to us; diligently checking my Amazon “Where’s my Stuff” page, and following the box via the shipping number.

Being that TT recommends this case for the device we ordered (tt330s), I thought it would be more of a ‘custom fit’. It’s not. It’s basically a medium sized (about twice the size of a portable cd player) ‘harder-sided’ case w/ the TT logo on it.

Here’s what I really didn’t like about the case:

1. It’s not a custom fit for the TT device

2. For as big as it is, there’s not enough space for the TT, charger/cable, and mount — let alone the manuals and stuff.

3. The case is too large to conveniently ‘take with you’ when you park the car.

For the price (~$30) I’d recommend (1) re-purposing a pouch/bag you already have; or (2) wait til you have your PND and all the accessories you want to pack in front of you, and then go get a generic case/pouch/bag from Target or Walmart

In terms of protection, the hard case is great. But it does not have a space to contain the cable to carry. If the manufacturer makes the pocket that the cable can be stored, this case will be super.

I read some reviews before I ordered this case so I knew what I was getting.

It’s a good case, I have had no problems with the zipper.

Great for protection when I put my gps unit in my handbag. It won’t protect as well as a real hard shell case if it has a fall onto pavement, but then again my gps is either in my home, in my handbag or in my car.

So it’s just as I expected, a good protective case.

Oh, and it shouldn’t be called a “hard-shell case”, I think it should be changed to a “molded hard-foam case”.
