5 Stars What a GPS mount.
After reviewing several reviews for the different kinds of GPS dash mounts, I opted for the HDFMB-2. WHAT A MOUNT. I have a Magellan Maestro 3250 and this mount dosen’t know it’s attached. I have driven and used this mount in a Jeep Liberty, Dodge van, Mitsubishi Galant and a C280 Mercedes Benz. This mount made the GPS move to each vehicle a breeze and the mount stayed right where I put it and it looks great. It was easy to hide with no tall tail signs of a GPS ownership. If you are considering a dash mount you cannot go wrong with this dash mount. I would buy this again. 5 Stars Fantastic GPS mount
I kept having problems with my GPS staying stuck to the windshield with shifting humidity… this is definitely the answer. It doesn’t look like it’ll stay put on the dash, but it’s got a non-slip bottom, and it’s hefty enough to stay in one place. The GPS stays where it’s supposed to, and the mount has never moved unless I was trying to move it. Works absoultely perfectly.

5 Stars Well designed mount….
Pros:

Open front allows your GPS to be lowered down for less obstruction to your view out the windshield.

The base is tacky silicon and really grabs your dash surface.

Cons:

Because of the open front, the unit is more likely to flip over on a fast start if you have a weighty GPS overhanging the front of the mount.

Overall: I like the design of this unit over the circular unit although its not quite as stable due to the design. Generally I would recommend this over the circular models.

Works ok with a Tom Tom while the power cord is plugged into the bottom. Does not slide around much, my wife does not dislodge it even with her usual wild driving. The price is good too.

It is well-made BUT it is made from vinyl not like advertised. Not from “Premium Leather”. Hey, Amazon what are you doing to your customers???

4 Stars Stylish and functional way to protect a GPS unit.
This product is exactly as pictured, with no surprises. The quality of the product, including the leather and construction is very good. The only complaint that I have is that the belt clip is not removable, making it a little cumbersome to fit it in a purse or smaller space without some effort or the risk of the clip snagging. The case is hard sided, offering great protection for my Garmin Nuvi 255. The magnetic closure is a convenient way to secure the GPS unit, but the top cover is rigid and can easily become an obstacle in removing the unit while worn on a belt. The top of the sides are open, not completely covering the unit, but this is intentional to allow the power button to remain in the off position or to prevent unnecessary pressure that may break the button all together. The only thing that you need to watch out for is getting use to removing the GPS unit without damaging the power button which can easily happen if great care is not taken when removing the unit from the case. There isn’t enough room to grip the front and back of the unit with your fingers, so you are forced to remove the GPS by gripping the sides, which is why I recommend getting use to doing this gently to avoid damaging the power button or dropping the unit. Overall, I am happy with this product despite the inability to remove the belt clip.

This case is very nice. Sturdy and of course the Tomtom One XL fits precisely in it. I did not think I would use it very much. However, we just returned from a short vacation. I used it every time we left the car for any length of time. Fortunately, I had it in this case when the inevitable happened…I dropped it on concrete. If it was not for the case, I probably would own a broken Tomtom. Great product.

The carrycase is a sturdy hard plastic that is strong enough to protect the GPS unit from bumps and drops. It is small enough to tuck away in a coat pocket. The only negative I have about the case is that it is not big enough to hold the accessories for storage at home but that is no problem when traveling because those things can remain in the car.

Much better and stronger product than the original.

Fit is a little tight between the mount and the universal cradle. Has to be almost forced on.

1 Star If you buy from Beach Audio, you will not receive what you ordered
Product not as advertised. Ordered Magellan windshield mount #980823 but received 980799, which is an older, cheaper version that was simply relabeled and sold. Makes me wonder why Beach Audio doesn’t have a picture of the product, even though all other Amazon sellers do.

Though guy at Beach Audio said he would send me UPS shipping labels to return the items, no other attempts were made to satisfy the customer, nor have I received the shipping labels. The burden to correct this should not be left with the customer. Do not buy this item from Beach Audio.

5 Stars Great item RM 700
I have a Road-mate 700. Updated to a 760 by down loading took four hours, cost $99.00 now has all the perks the 760 has. The unit still has the smaller hard drive all around. The unit has served me well with very minor miss step on unknown dead end streets. It is now supposedly loaded with maps of Hawaii, United states,Canada,Mexico, Puerto Rico.

In California it is not permitted to stick any thing to the windshield glass. I have a mount for the air conditioner louvers, this will cool down the unit and in four hours the unit will shut down,it takes about three hours for it to warm up,[ don't throw it out the window yet] then your on off switch will work. If the air conditioner is not used then you are home free.

I would never go to any unknown areas with out it. This I believe to be one of the best units available I love it, and I give it Five stars,it’s now out of production,, how sad.

It works but it’s the third one I’ve had to buy. When it falls off the window it has a tendency to break. Not many options if you need to fit it to the Garmin. Price was great at 1/2 what others wanted.
