I had this device for a week now and all i can say its simply best. Receive satellite signal fast, free traffic update and in case you are about to get trough that mess it will find you another route. I am very impressed with it so fast its very accurate. I am not sure why would some people say its not user friendly its plain and simple. lane assist is also great it tells you what lane to be in. voice navigating also works great it tells you on time when to make left or right turn before its to late. In case you do miss turn it will automatically find another route to your destination. I was missing turns on purpose to see what will do and its great. If you looking to buy GPS navigation then you should definitely put this on your list
Cons: i am unable to pair blutooth with my phone.

I’ve had this GPS for about 3 weeks now and it is the best PND out there to date. I have owned several Magellan and one Garmin unit and think that Navigon got it right with this one. It’s built like a brick, is very accurate and the advanced TTS is very clear. It even tells you which side of the street your destination is on. Elevation, direction of travel, name of street you’re currently on and actual MPH is also displayed. Also, while navigating or in map mode, the arrow “glides” on the map screen instead of a “jumpy” movement as seen on other units. Much more pleasant to look at. This is probably due to a faster processor. The bluetooth pairing was easy to sync to my SonyEricsson phone and the audio is clear. To those who gave this unit an unfavorable rating, I subtract 3 stars for your incompetence. Please, make sure you understand how a product works before you rate it. Yes, this GPS does not have an MP3 or play video so it’s not fair to deduct points for lacking this. That’s what your IPOD or multimedia unit is for! The only reason I gave this GPS 4 stars instead of 5 was because it does not allow you to search your POI’s by name, only by category. But after a free update from Navigon you’ll have about 8 million POI’s. Also, I’m glad I waited awhile before purchasing this unit because it allows some time for Navigon to get any “bugs” out and the price is much lower. It is currently $360 at Amazon. I highly recommend this unit!

You would have to be nuts to buy this product. I bought mine and it still isn’t working. 1. Mounting arm was broke. 2. Had to return unit because the unit didn’t pick up satelites. 3. Return came with Euro maps. 3. Fresh maps locks up and takes forever to download. This all happen over 4 weeks with numurous calls to customer service. A piece of junks for $400 bucks.

The Navigon 8100T looks and appears to be a good product but it is lacking in two essential features. 1. The mount they provided is very inflexible. There were only a few places to use it in my vehicle. They did offer a custom mount for your particular vehicle but they wanted an additional $35 for the mount. If you have two vehicles that’s an additional $70. 2. I was not able to type in POI. All they offer are the standard restaurants, hotels and gas stations. If you wanted to look up the location of the nearest hardware store, grocery store or well established store names, you’re not able to request this information. This is a feature I find most handy with my current GPS. 3. The minor features are: it does not provide the cross streets as you are driving through a town and the printing on the screen is too small.
All in all I was very disappointed because the product did offer a lot of good features I would have liked to have used while driving.
